How Can sharp Hip Pain Be Treated?

I was social dancing last night and I felt a very sharp pain hit my right outer hip. It hurts to walk on it, although I can bear weight on it. I have pain when I walk, walk up or down stairs, and move from a sitting position to a standing position. What could this be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a simple muscular pain due to severe exertion.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

Take absolute bed rest for two days.

Nothing much to worry and you will be fine in a couple of days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
